Work with me

Tell me what's actually wrong.

There's no package to pick. You tell me what's leaking — money, time, attention — and if I can help, I come back with what I found and what I'd do about it. If I can't, I'll say so and usually tell you who can.

You already know something's wrong. You just can't get a straight answer about it.

The people who understand your business have never built software. The people who build software have never run your business. So you get a website when you needed a strategy, or a strategy deck from someone who'd need a week to learn what a set crew does.

I'm on both sides of that. Thirty years in construction, housing, trades and franchise — and I build the AI and the software myself. That combination is the entire product.

How The Blueprint goes

The work has a name, because it runs the same way every time. It's the engagement behind almost everything below — and it's scoped to the business in front of me, so I don't publish a price for it.

  1. 01

    The diagnosis

I tell you what's actually wrong, in plain language, even when it's uncomfortable. Not what you asked me to look at — what I found.

  2. 02

    The reframe

Usually the problem isn't the thing you were about to spend money fixing. This is the part clients say changed how they see the business.

  3. 03

    Original research

Real primary research on your market — how it actually buys, who really controls the money, where the margin hides. Not a summary of what's already on the internet.

  4. 04

A working demo, not a deck

You get to click through your own business in its future state, in your own brand, with your own products in it. Seeing it beats being told about it.

  5. 05

    The build plan

Phased, in order, specific enough to hand to any competent builder — including what to do first and what to leave alone.

  6. 06

    The honest part

In writing: what this won't fix, what it'll cost you in time, and what I'd tell you not to do. Every engagement includes it.

Two programs with a price on them

Both are for franchise and multi-unit operators, both are brand-agnostic, and both have a page of their own. Everything else I do starts with the conversation below.

  • Build-out coaching

    From $5,000

For multi-unit owners building their first store. What it actually costs, trade by trade, from someone who was both the owner and the GC on his own.

  • GM training — The Handoff

    From $6,500

Three days in a working store for the manager who's going to run yours. The floor, the numbers, and the handoff — so the store runs without you in it.

Build-out coaching

I built a franchise store as the owner and the GC. Both sides.

From $5,000

I read the FDD line by line, priced every trade, signed the lease, ran the build, and have run the P&L every month since it opened. There are not many people who have been on both sides of that, and the ones who have are usually not available to you.

Most first-time owners hand the build to whoever the brand recommends and find out what it cost afterward. A day before that happens is worth considerably more than a day after.

What we go through

  • Your Item 7 ranges against what a build actually costs
  • Trade by trade — who you need, in what order, and what they miss
  • The landlord's allowance, and what it does and doesn't cover
  • What to self-perform, what to never self-perform
  • The first ninety days after opening, which nobody prepares you for

Brand-agnostic. What changes between systems is the equipment package. What doesn't change is where the money goes and what gets missed.

Conduit being run above the back door of a store during fit-out, block wall still bare
Our own store, a few days out. This is the part nobody photographs, and it's the part that decides what the build cost.

Who this is for

A good fit

  • Construction, trades, and building products
  • Prefab, modular, and manufactured housing
  • Home services and field-service businesses
  • Franchise owners and multi-unit operators
  • Family businesses handing something to the next generation

Not a good fit

  • Pure software and consumer apps — I'd be a generic strategist there
  • Anyone who wants a website built and nothing questioned
  • Anyone who wants the answer they already decided on

The narrowness is deliberate. Thirty years in these industries is the research advantage — outside them, I'm just another consultant with a nice-looking page.

Before you inquire

The research doesn't compress

Assembly gets faster every time I do this. Domain work costs what it costs. If you need it in a week, I'm the wrong call.

You'll hear things you didn't ask to hear

The diagnosis comes first and it's blunt. That's the part that's worth the money, and it's the part people find hardest.

I'll tell you if I'm not the right person

If your problem is outside what I actually know, I'll say so on the first call and point you somewhere better. That costs me a sale and saves you a quarter.

In their words

“Setting up a new franchise restaurant has involved a lot of research and decision-making. But there is knowledge out there from people who have done this exact same thing before. I think that's the real value of what Kable has built here — taking the knowledge he has gained and making it available for people like me who are following that same path.”

Dan W

“I went into the day with assumptions about the business and what the real needle movers of performance would be. The most impactful portion of the visit was getting to talk through the real costs of the buildout and the P&L. Having that data to use as a litmus test for our first store will be helpful.

A typical owner would just close their eyes and hope their GC would complete the project correctly and for the most cost effective price. It was fascinating getting to see the buildout from the GC perspective.

Seeing a store in action and getting the real performance data and real buildout costs is invaluable.”

Tell me what's actually wrong.

A paragraph is plenty. If I can help, I'll come back with the reframe and a plan. If I can't, I'll tell you — and I'll usually tell you who can.
